Is my company’s product right for AfrICATDC.com?

Each product is reviewed for attributes that have the best opportunity for success. The AfrICATDC customer is an extremely savvy shopper, so items that have many of the following attributes tend to have the best opportunity for success: innovative, demonstrable, unique, solution oriented, quality and that provide value are of interest to AfrICATDC.com.  The following is a list of product categories that AfrICATDC is seeking:

Does AfrICATDC.com charge a fee for airing products on AfrICATDC TV?

No; AfrICATDC .com does not charge for a product evaluation nor does it sell its airtime. AfrICATDC .com is membership based and this service is offered to AfrICATDC.com members.

Is there a minimum quantity of product that AfrICATDC buys?

For products selected to be sold on AfrICATDC TV ( on-air), a minimum purchase order is $5,000 per item at wholesale cost is usually required, (e.g. if the cost of goods is $10 per item, divide the total minimum purchase order amount by $10 to determine the quantity ($5,000/$10= 500 units). The entire purchase order quantity must be received at AfrICATDC’s distribution center before it can be available to sell.

Is a buyer available to discuss my product?

We require that everyone follow AfrICATDC’s product submission process as a first step including completing the AfrICATDC Product Submission Application. The application link is at the bottom of the page.

Will AfrICATDC manufacture my product or idea?

As a general rule, AfrICATDC does not assist inventors and entrepreneurs with manufacturing.  . The item you submit for a product evaluation should be a manufactured item or, or at the very least, a working prototype. However, if your product is chosen, AfrICATDC may help you get your product manufactured, by referring you to a manufacturer

Does AfrICATDC sell cause-related merchandise?

On occasion AfrICATDC sells cause-related merchandise where a donation is made to a specific charity. As with any product sold by AfrICATDC, the cause-related product must have general appeal and salability; and will be evaluated using AfrICATDC standard evaluation procedures and guidelines for cause-related marketing.

Application Process

I have more than one item. Should I submit an application for each item?

No, only one application per company is necessary. We encourage you to edit your selection to a small number of products that you feel will be of most interest to AfrICATDC. We also encourage you, if applicable, to provide a link to your website so we can view your entire product assortment.

How long will the review process for my product take?

The first step in the product evaluation process is to complete the AfrICATDC Product Submission application. The link is at the bottom of the page. Vendor Relations will contact you via email within approximately 2 to 4 weeks from the time your form is received to inform you of AfrICATDC’s level of interest in your product.

Should I mail a product sample to AfrICATDC?

AfrICATDC prefers that you do not send unsolicited product samples. Please note that AfrICATDC does not return unsolicited product samples.  If AfrICATDC requests a product sample, do include a copy of your product submission form with your sample. Please do not send any items that cannot be replaced, such as, an original prototype or mold. AfrICATDC accepts no responsibility or liability for the safe arrival, handling or return of any submitted items.

How do I know if my application was successfully submitted?

You will receive a confirmation email the same day you send your product submission

What factors should I keep in mind when calculating my cost for products to AfrICATDC?

Vendors determine the cost of goods for their products. Please factor in the charges you incur in packaging, shipping your products to AfrICATDC’s warehouse.

Please note: AfrICATDC’s warehouse is located in Miami, Florida, the Southern region of the United States.

May I have access to AfrICATDC’s shipping & product requirements?

Once AfrICATDC has made the decision to move forward with your product, we will provide you with access to our Quality Assurance, Packaging and Labeling Guidelines. We do not release this information until it is determined that AfrICATDC is interested in your product.
