The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) was founded in 1964, and consists of the following institutions:
AfDB is headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, but has been temporarily relocated to Tunis in Tunisia; Donald Kaberuka is the president of AfDB.
AfDB’s major role is to contribute to the economic and social progress of its regional member countries (shareholders) – individually and collectively.
The Shareholders include:
